City SC Southwest’s Championship Weekend event May 15-17 was a lively celebration of the 2026 Spring Recreational League as teams took over the fields to finish the season with some fun, friendly, tournament style competition.
Players showed off their stuff on the field, coaches brought the energy on the sidelines, and parents were out in force to cheer on their teams. After 75+ games played over the weekend across Lake Elsinore and Menifee, winners were crowned in each division U4-U16, but all players left champions after a season marked by development, friendships and a passion for the game.
“We saw some great matchups this weekend and it’s amazing to see the growth in the players,” said director of recreation, Hansel Loria. “Our volunteer coaches have done an amazing job instilling that development and love of the game and we can’t thank them enough for the time and energy they have poured into their teams this season.”
Championship Weekend was a great reminder that soccer is the ultimate platform to bring people together. It was special to see all of our members, coaches, staff and volunteers working together to support our kids in their soccer journey.
“The recreational program is the foundation of our player pathway at City SC Southwest,” said Loria. “We’re here to build soccer players, to build good human beings, and to build community.”
As the spring season concludes, registration for the 2026 Fall league is now open.
The fall promises to be another exciting season ahead, with Early Bird pricing through June 1!
