City SC Recreational Soccer Program FAQs

About City SC

Why choose City SC?
If you’ve played with City SC Rec in Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Canyon Hills, or Horsethief Canyon City SC is still the club your family has trusted since 2021.

1) Our mission and vision at City SC always has been and always will be as follows:

  • To ignite a lifelong passion for soccer in every player
  • To bring joy and fun to our community
  • To leave a legacy that lasts forever

2) We are committed to continue running a player centered, family oriented program that enriches our local community and delivers on the values listed above.
3) We feel our reduced pricing demonstrates that commitment to families first, and we sincerely hope everyone will take advantage of the opportunity to participate in our Fall league at an unprecedentedly low rate! (Just $59 if you register by April 1!)
4) There is a place for everyone at City SC. By uniting previously competing clubs together under the City SC brand, we have established a complete player pathway from recreational soccer, to the highest levels of competitive soccer, and the collegiate and professional ranks.
5) We offer programs and teams for players of all ages, levels and aspirations, and the flexibility for multi-player households to keep ALL their kids in the same club. Our model allows players to choose to play close to home, with the option to join teams in other regions without having to switch clubs.

It is unfortunate that the soccer families in the Valley are caught in the middle of the confusion surrounding recreational youth soccer.  We encourage members of the community to choose the program that you feel best suits your family’s needs. If you choose City SC, you can trust us to continue to invest in the development of our youth as both players and people, and to continue raising the standards for youth soccer programming.

Who is the Rec Director at City SC?
Davina Sanchez was appointed as the new Director of Recreation at City SC Southwest effective March 25, 2025.

Davina has been a competitive coach with City SC for a number of years.  She began her coaching journey coaching her daughter’s rec team, inspired by her own experience being coached by her father as a youth player.

Davina can be reached at: rec@cityscsouthwest.com

Davina is fluent in both English and Spanish. She has an extensive background coaching at various recreational programs prior to joining City SC.  She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program along with an abundance of enthusiasm, ingenuity and a passion for the game and serving our soccer community!

What fields do you use?
The City of Lake Elsinore and City of Menifee have formal processes for assigning field allocations throughout the year.

Field allocations are yet to be officially released for fall sports programs. In Lake Elsinore and Canyon Hills, we expect to have similar allocations as in previous seasons which includes: Alberhill Sports Park, Summerlake Park, Creekside Park, Canyon Hills Sports Park and Creekside Park.  Field allocations in Menifee vary yearly.

About the New Local Youth Soccer Dynamics

Who is operating the City SC 2025 Spring League programs in Lake Elsinore & Menifee?
All players in the current City SC 2025 Spring League program are paid, registered and insured through City SC.

City SC continues to run the Spring League programs for which players registered for through the City Rec Soccer site.

Effective March 25, 2025, Davina Sanchez assumed leadership of the City SC rec program.

What is the relationship between City Rec Soccer and City SC?
City Rec Soccer is simply the URL that has been owned by City SC and used to house all of our City SC rec soccer program info for the past four years.

Why does the City Rec Soccer website now redirect to another club instead of City SC?
Unfortunately the City Rec Soccer URL was compromised in the process of moving all domains and program and registration info under the City SC Southwest brand and is now being used to promote a competing program. We sincerely apologize for the confusion this has caused and are seeking guidance on how we can resume control of the site.

Who is City SC?
City SC is a national affiliate program that helps youth soccer organizations grow and improve both competitive and recreational programs.  City SC’s flagship club is City SC Carlsbad. As the original club model, City SC Carlsbad shares best practices and resources with City SC affiliates.  City SC Temecula was the first City SC affiliate club.

In November of 2024 City SC Temecula rebranded as City SC Southwest.  City SC Southwest continues to operate City SC in Temecula, Lake Elsinore and Menifee.

City SC has been running recreational and competitive soccer programs in conjunction with the City of Lake Elsinore since 2021. City SC has remained in good standing with the City of Lake Elsinore and continues to achieve its goal of offering quality youth soccer programs to the community and families of Lake Elsinore.

What was the purpose of the rebrand?
The rebrand reflects a greater vision to “Unite the Valley” and added Murrieta to the family of clubs in Temecula, Lake Elsinore and Menifee under the umbrella of City SC Southwest.

Unifying these clubs allows us to work together rather than in competition to share resources and best practices to provide the best possible soccer experience, and a club that has an appropriate level of play and a home for all players to participate to their own enjoyment.

With the unification of clubs from the Temecula, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore and Menifee regions, the name City SC Southwest more accurately portrays the sense of cohesion, community and connection between different regions of the Valley.
